Our team recently completed a Commercial Renovation & Fit-Out in Marlton, NJ, converting an empty commercial shell into the striking new home of Coven Tattoo Studio. The client selected Naimoli General Contractors to turn an open retail storefront into a modern, uniquely designed tattoo establishment. We guided this venture from an initial bare stud tear out all the way through to an inviting, functional facility tailored to the daily operational needs of the business.
Managing the Commercial Renovation & Fit-Out in Marlton, NJ
Transforming an existing retail footprint requires precise scheduling and trade coordination across every phase. Our crew initiated the commercial interior demolition during the first week, stripping out drywall, partitions, and former infrastructure down to the metal studs to establish a clean base. We then transitioned directly into rough framing in week two, building out the custom walls and distinct room divisions required by the approved floor plan.
Over the following two weeks, our technicians completed rough mechanical installations. This included updated plumbing lines for dedicated handwash stations as well as specialized electrical configurations tailored for professional studio illumination, comfortable work zones, and client equipment. The final four weeks centered on custom carpentry, surfaces, and fine architectural elements.
Architectural Details and Interior Finishes
The completed space integrates specialized aesthetic finishes alongside practical commercial functionality. Visitors enter through a welcoming reception and client waiting lounge decorated with deep black walls and ambient lighting fixtures. Custom sliding purple barn doors with glass paning separate this quiet waiting area from the active studio, providing visual character and practical sound separation between rooms.
Across the entire studio interior, our carpenters installed an ornate drop ceiling featuring vintage stamped tile panels. Underfoot, durable luxury vinyl plank flooring provides a resilient wood look that withstands heavy foot traffic while allowing effortless sanitation. The color palette uses custom paints from Sherwin-Williams, highlighting rich mauve, deep purple, and emerald hues in private procedure rooms. We constructed a fully ADA compliant commercial restroom complete with starburst floor patterns, classic white subway wall tiles, and brass fixtures. Additionally, a dedicated private office space provides practical room for daily administrative tasks.
